Privacy Statement

Otter Intelligence (Hypersoniq B.V.; "we", "us") is responsible for the personal data processed through otterintelligence.nl. This Privacy Statement explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and what rights you have. Our contact details are at the bottom of this page.
In short: we only collect what you give us through our forms, plus the technical data needed to keep the website safe. We use it to reply to you, we never sell it, and we only share it with the service providers that help us run the website.
What we collect and why
Open an item to see exactly what we collect, how long we keep it and on what legal basis. When a retention period ends, we delete the data.

Usage
When you book a demo, we use your details to contact you and schedule it.

NewsletterConsent
Usage
When you subscribe, we use your email address to send you our newsletter about smart water treatment and our progress. Brevo records whether you open each newsletter and which links you click, so we can see what our readers find interesting. You can unsubscribe at any time, using the link in each newsletter or by emailing us.
Sharing data
Your signup is delivered to our inbox by Resend, and we add your email address to our mailing list in Brevo, which sends the newsletter.

Spam and abuse protectionLegitimate interest
Usage
To keep bots and abuse away from our forms, we check each submission with Cloudflare Turnstile and limit how many messages can be sent from one IP address in a short time. Our servers also keep technical logs to find errors and attacks. If a message can't be delivered to us, it is kept in these logs so it isn't lost.
Sharing data
Cloudflare processes these details for its bot detection and keeps part of our server logs; the rest stay on our own server at Hetzner. Our Cookie Statement lists the cookies involved.

Usage
We plan to use statistics tools to understand how visitors use our website, and marketing tools to support our marketing. None of these are active yet.
Sharing data
Before we switch any on, we'll list the tools here and in our Cookie Statement, and they'll only run after you've given consent in the cookie banner.

We never sell your personal data. We only share it with the service providers below, which process it on our behalf and under our instructions.

Where your data goes
Microsoft stores our mailbox in its datacentres in the EU, under its EU Data Boundary. In limited cases, such as security operations, data may be accessed from outside the EU; Microsoft protects those transfers with the EU standard contractual clauses and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. For more information, please read Microsoft's Privacy Statement.
How we protect your data
The website is only served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, form submissions are checked for spam before they reach us, and access to the messages you send us is limited to the colleagues who need it to reply.
Automated decisions
We don't make decisions about you based solely on automated processing, and we don't build profiles of our visitors. The anti-spam check only decides whether a form submission looks like it came from a bot; if it fails, you can try again or email us directly.

Our Cookie Statement explains which cookies we use and how you can manage them.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- The right to know why we need your personal data, what we do with it and how long we keep it.
- The right to access the personal data we hold about you.
- The right to have incorrect or incomplete data corrected or supplemented.
- The right to have your personal data deleted.
- The right to have the processing of your data restricted.
- The right to receive your personal data and have it transferred to another organisation.
- The right to object to the processing of your data. We will stop unless we have compelling legitimate grounds to continue.
- Where we process your data based on your consent, the right to withdraw that consent at any time.
To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. If you have a complaint about how we handle your data, we'd like to hear about it first, but you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
